The next addition to Nightshade Frequencies II draws three further currents into the convergence: northern myth, urban despair, and martial-industrial grandeur.![]()
Andreas Hedlund’s Vintersorg has spent a quarter-century drifting from woodland mysticism toward metaphysics and the cosmos – but for this seldom-granted live appearance, he stays firmly earthbound. The set is drawn solely from his earliest material: “Hedniskhjärtad” (1998), “Till fjälls” (1998), and “Ödemarkens son” (1999) – the raw, melodic pagan black metal steeped in nature and folklore. ![]()
Across four albums, Lifelover became known for a narcotic blend of black metal, post-punk, bleak humour and metropolitan misery, before the 2011 death of founder and chief composer Jonas Bergqvist laid the band to rest. Twenty years on from their formation, those left behind carry the songs forward – returning to Stockholm for the first time since selling out Kollektivet Livet last winter.![]()
Triarii take their name from the veterans of the Roman third line – the reserve committed only when the front had broken. Christian Erdmann’s one-man martial-industrial monument last stood on a Death Disco stage aboard the 2019 Waves of Darkness, making this something of a homecoming. Triarii have not performed live since the pandemic; that the third line is being called up again should tell you how grave the hour has grown.

Songs like “The Coffin Ships” recount the desperate voyages of Irish famine refugees crossing the Atlantic on disease-ridden vessels where death often outnumbered hope.![]()
After years of silence – and even an announced end in 2020 – Karjalan Sissit return to the stage. The live performance will feature Peter Bjärgö of Arcana, whose mastery of haunting neoclassical melody collides spectacularly with Make Pesonen’s deranged sonic warfare. The result is a strange and unforgettable contrast.![]()
